Zakat Calculator
Zakat is the share of your wealth that belongs to those in need — a purification of what you hold, not a deduction from it. On gold it is due once a lunar year on holdings at or above the nisab, at a rate of two and a half percent.
-
Weigh your gold
Enter each piece separately with its weight and its carat. Any jeweller will weigh your pieces for you, and most receipts already show the weight and carat. Weigh in grams or in tola, whichever your receipt uses.
-
Choose a gold rate
We keep the current 24 carat rate per tola up to date. The rate for your carat is worked out from it — 21 carat is 21/24 of the 24 carat rate, and so on. If you would rather use your own figure, you can enter it.
-
Tell us where to send it
Your name, email and phone number. The report is prepared for you personally and sent to that email address, so it is worth checking the spelling.
-
Receive your report
You get a full breakdown: every piece, its weight in grams, tola and masha, the rate used, the value, and the zakat due — rounded to the nearest hundred so it is a figure you can actually hand over.
Nothing is shown on this page. The report is the result, and it is yours to keep, print or forward.
Note: zakat on gold becomes due once your holding reaches the nisab of 7.5 tola (87.48 grams). What you have entered is below that. Your report will still be prepared and will say so. If you also hold silver, cash, business stock or other zakatable wealth, they are counted together and the nisab may well be met — this calculator covers gold only.
