Bangle Size Guide

A bangle should pass over the hand with a little coaxing and then sit easily at the wrist — snug enough not to slip off, loose enough to turn. Because it has to clear the widest part of the hand, a bangle is sized by its inside diameter: straight across the opening, from one inner edge to the other. Everything below helps you find that measurement at home before you order, whether you are choosing from our collections or commissioning something of your own.

1. One Match a bangle you already wear

   Take a bangle that fits the hand you have in mind and lay it on the printable sheet below. The circle its inside edge rests on is your size. This is the most reliable method at home.

2. Two Or measure across the inside

   Lay a well-fitting bangle flat and measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, in millimetres. Match that figure to the diameter in the table below. One inch is eight soot, so every half-soot step is one-sixteenth of an inch.

3. Three Let us size you

A few things worth knowing

The two everyday sizes are Sawa Do (2¼ inches) and Dhai (2½ inches). Around them sit the finer half-soot sizes, so there is almost always a size that fits without forcing.

Measure the hand at its narrowest. Tuck the thumb in toward the little finger, as if slipping a bangle on, and measure across the widest point the bangle has to pass. A bangle that cannot clear the hand is of no use, so when you fall between two sizes, take the larger — it goes on more kindly and still sits well at the wrist.

Size conversion

Find your inside diameter in inches or millimetres, or a named size if you already know it, then read across. The gold rows are the named sizes — Do, Sawa Do, Dhai, Paune Teen and Teen — with the finer sizes sitting between them.
